The Procurement Officer is responsible for sourcing and purchasing goods and services that meet the company’s operational needs. The role requires an in-depth understanding of procurement policies, supplier management, and cost-effective purchasing strategies. The Procurement Officer ensures that all acquisitions align with company objectives, quality standards, and budget constraints.
Responsibilities
- Sourcing & Purchasing: Identify reliable suppliers, negotiate contracts, and purchase quality materials or services at the best prices.
- Supplier Management: Maintain strong relationships with vendors, evaluate their performance, and ensure timely delivery of goods.
- Inventory Control: Monitor stock levels, track purchases, and ensure materials are available when needed.
- Cost Management: Analyze costs, find cost-saving opportunities, and ensure procurement aligns with budgetary requirements.
- Compliance & Documentation: Ensure procurement activities comply with company policies and industry regulations while maintaining accurate records.
- Market Research: Stay updated on industry trends, new suppliers, and emerging procurement strategies.
- Collaboration: Work with other departments to understand procurement needs and ensure seamless operations.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
- Minimum of three years of experience as a Procurement Officer.
- Strong negotiation and contract management skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and procurement software.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
