Job summary:
The LPG Plant Manager that is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of a Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) plant, ensuring efficient production, storage, distribution, and compliance with safety and regulatory standards. The role involves managing staff, optimizing processes, maintaining equipment, and meeting business goals related to quality, safety, and profitability.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plant Operations Management: Oversees the entire LPG plant operations, including production, storage, and distribution activities. Develops and implements operational procedures to ensure safety, efficiency, and compliance. Monitors the plant’s performance metrics and take corrective actions to optimize output.
- Safety and Compliance: Ensures adherence to health, safety, and environmental (HSE) regulations. Conducts regular safety audits and risk assessments to identify and mitigate potential hazards. Trains staff on safety protocols and emergency response procedures.
- Team Leadership: Recruits, trains, and supervises plant personnel, including technicians and administrative staff. Assigns responsibilities, sets performance goals, and conducts performance evaluations. Fosters a culture of teamwork, safety, and accountability within the plant.
- Equipment Maintenance: Schedules and oversees maintenance, repairs, and inspections of LPG equipment and storage facilities. Ensures all machinery and tools meet operational and safety standards. Coordinates with vendors and contractors for specialized maintenance services.
- Inventory and Supply Chain Management: Monitors LPG inventory levels to ensure adequate supply and minimize shortages or excesses. Coordinates with suppliers and logistics partners for timely delivery and dispatch of LPG. Optimizes storage and handling processes to reduce waste and improve efficiency.
- Regulatory and Legal Compliance: Ensures compliance with local, national, and international regulations related to LPG operations. Prepares and submits required reports and documentation to regulatory authorities. Stays updated on changes in laws and regulations affecting the LPG industry.
- Financial Management: Prepares budgets and monitors expenses to ensure cost-effective operations. Identifies opportunities to improve profitability through process optimization or cost reduction. Analyses financial reports and contribute to strategic business decisions.
Qualification:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
- 6-10 years of relevant experience in plant operations.
- Extensive experience in LPG operations, plant management, or the oil and gas industry.
- Strong knowledge of LPG handling, storage, and safety standards.
- Proficiency in operational management software and tools.
