Job Summary

The BDM identifies and creates business opportunities such as organic growth, potential mergers and acquisitions for the organization. Also, assesses their potential fit against overall strategic and operational objectives.

Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership & Execution: 

  • Leads the development and execution of comprehensive business strategies that align with the company’s goals for growth, profitability, and innovation.
  • Drives initiatives to capture new business opportunities and build strong partnerships across key sectors.

Market Expansion: 

  • Identifies and target new markets and sectors for growth, including but not limited to digital health, fintech, education, and commerce.
  • Establishes a strong market presence and drive the adoption of the company’s solutions across Africa.

Client Relationship Management: 

  • Cultivates and maintain strong relationships with key clients and stakeholders.
  • Works closely with C-suite executives and senior leaders at prospective partner organizations to understand their needs and tailor solutions.

Innovation & Impact: 

  • Supports the company’s commitment to digital transformation by identifying and leading the implementation of innovative solutions.
  • Ensures that products and services align with market demands and client expectations, and deliver measurable impact on clients’ business operations.

Team Leadership & Collaboration: 

  • Provides leadership and mentorship to internal teams, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and excellence.
  • Collaborates closely with sales, marketing, and product teams to ensure alignment and successful project execution.

Industry Representation: 

  • Represents the company at industry conferences, trade shows, and networking events, elevating the company’s profile and reputation as a leader in innovation and digital transformation services.

Operational Excellence: 

  • Oversees the day-to-day operations of business development efforts, ensuring efficiency, resource optimization, and alignment with organizational objectives.

Compliance & Risk Management: 

  • Supports the company in ensuring compliance with industry regulations and legal requirements, while mitigating risks associated with business expansion and partnership agreements.

Qualifications

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, Medical Sciences, Public Health, Marketing or a related field.
  • Minimum of 6 – 10 years of experience in business development, sales, or strategic roles within the IT, digital services, or high-tech industries.
  • Proven experience in managing large-scale projects and driving market expansion.
  • An MBA or equivalent advanced degree is highly preferred.
  • Exceptional leadership and strategic planning abilities.
  • Strong negotiation and sales expertise.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for building relationships with internal teams, clients, and stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to manage complex business operations and drive impactful change.
  • Expertise in identifying and capitalizing on business opportunities in new markets.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
  • High-level financial acumen to drive business decisions and ensure profitability.
  • A keen understanding of digital health and Edtech products and solutions is a significant advantage.
  • Ability to travel to state capitals across Nigeria and other regions as needed.
  • Proficiency in MS Office tools.
  • Experience with market research and competitor analysis.
  • A deep passion for innovation, digital transformation, and the impact of technology on society.
