I am writing to apply for the above mentioned role as advertised on your website for the position  of  Head of Operations 

 ​My work experience spans across various client facing roles and at different professional levels such as  Energy advisor, Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH (German Agency for International Cooperation, Nigeria), Progammes Manager, CSR-in-Action, Learning Support and Business Development Officer for the Foundation for Environmental Development and Education in Nigeria/ Leadership for​ Environment and Development Anglophone West Africa (a membership organisation) as well as working on developmental projects that would be valuable to support your work. I possess a Master’s degree energy and environmental management for the Glasgow Caledonian University, Scotland, United Kingdom and a Bachelor’s Degree in Microbiology.

With more than eight, years of professional experiences in development, promotion and implementation of clean energy technologies, while taking into account the environmental concern in project implementation, the following specific experiences make me suitable for the position:

·         Grant Management: During my time as a Learning Support and Business Development Officer for the Leadership for Environment and Development Anglophone West Africa, I was responsible among other things for the periodic reporting to our funding agencies on the progress of the leadership fellowship programme been funded. These included the evaluation of training sessions and all other aspects of the programme. These funding partners included the Shell foundation, Waterloo foundation, LEAD International etc.

·         Rural Electrification and Sustainable Energy Access: During my role as the rural electrification and sustainable energy access advisor for (GIZ) German Agency for International Cooperation in Ogun state, Nigeria, I was responsible among other things for the oversight functions and general and technical management of the Nigerian Energy Support Programme liaison office in Ogun state. This saw the successful commissioning of a​ 75kwP off grid solar hybrid minigrid system with a pay-as-you-go metering in​ ​ Ijebu –east Local Government Area of the state, in a village called Gbamu-gbamu which was a decentralised solution, the state decentralised renewable energy strategy policy document, the Minigrid Public-Private-Partnership Guidelines, an investors’ toolkit as well as the state Rural Electrification Plan

·         Project, Opearations and   Organisational Management: I have overseen project from inception to commissioning. In my role as project manager for the Light -up OYO phase II, it entails my ensuring project deadlines are met and standards are kept. I have also managed other projects such as conferences, minigrid project , operations management of gas projects from logistics, supply and maintenance of gas substations. etc. Having worked directly with Directors in the past, I have been responsible for the day to day administration, programme management, proposal development and overall efficiency. 

 ·         Training and Capacity Building

I have facilitated the development and implementation of training and capacity building workshops for youth and women being an internationally certified trainer by the London Professional Training Centre and awarded a Level 3 diploma in international training delivery by the Highfield Awarding Body for Compliance.  One of such was the initiation, planning and execution of the Mitimeth/FCMB youth and women empowerment where over 40 participants from Iwopin waterside community in Ogun State were trained on the platform of the Ogun State Business Committee Network (BDCN originally created and supported by GIZ-SEDIN as an advocacy platform for local economic development towards wealth creation and poverty eradication). The training saw 4 participants emerge as active learners who were later selected for further train the trainers’ workshop in order to step down the training to other riverine communities of the state.
·         Business Development, Stakeholder management and Partnerships

​I have demonstrated business skills in my above mentioned roles by planning various conferences ranging from the 2nd Sustainability in the Extractive Industries Conference (SITEI) which had its focus on the youth as well as the Women in West Africa Entrepreneurship Festival (WOWE) as partnerships manager where I managed the media partners and drafted letters of sponsorships to prospective funders. ​ I have demonstrated my business development acumen in my above mentioned role by fostering strategic partnerships with C-level civil servants (Permanent Secretaries and Directors) and also politicians having reported to the ​ Former Deputy Governor of Ogun state, Nigeria. I was also part of the trainers who trained 400 girls on renewable energy in Ondo state during the Bemore Summer booth camp for girls a Foundation of the wife of the Ondo state Governor, Nigeria.

​ Communications
