Job Description

Responsibilities

Account Management
a) Oversee the management of all accounts related to SPL Utorogu Limited, ensuring accuracy
and consistency.
b) Develop and implement strategies for effective account management and resolution of
account-related issues.
c) Support internal and external audits, ensuring a smooth process and timely resolution of
audit findings.
d) Oversee cash flow management, including payment processing, receivables, and
reconciliation of accounts.
e) Ensure full compliance with local tax regulations, including VAT, corporate tax, and other
statutory obligations.
f) Prepare and submit tax returns and assist with tax audits when required.
g) Coordinate with internal teams to ensure account requirements and expectations are met.
h) Review and approve account-related documentation and transactions.
i) Maintain up-to-date records of all account activities and communications.

Financial Management
a) Prepare and manage budgets and financial forecasts for SPL Utorogu Limited accounts,
ensuring profitability and cost-effectiveness.
b) Monitor and report on financial performance, including invoicing and payment collection.
c) Conduct financial analyses to support strategic decision-making and improve financial
outcomes.
d) Ensure accurate and timely reporting of financial data to management.

Reporting and Analysis
a) Prepare detailed reports on account performance, financial status, and key metrics.
b) Analyse financial data and trends to provide actionable insights.
c) Present reports and analyses to senior management and recommend strategies for
improvement.
d) Track and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) related to account management.
e) Ensure compliance with reporting standards and regulatory requirements.
f) Stay updated on industry best practices and incorporate them into the company’s processes.
g) Ensure compliance with all Nigerian financial regulations, as well as standards set by bodies
such as the Financial Reporting Council of Nigeria (FRCN) and Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN).
h) Guarantee that financial statements meet both local and international standards

Qualifications

  1. A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; an MBA or advanced degree is
    preferred.
  2. Professional certification such as ACA/ACCA will be an added advantage.
  3. A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in account management, sales, or business
    development, preferably within the oil and gas industry.
  4. Strong knowledge of IFRS, Nigerian tax laws and relevant regulatory frameworks.
  5. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and experience with financial software (e.g.,
    SAP, Oracle, ERP systems, etc.).
  6. Strong financial acumen with experience in budgeting, financial analysis, and managing
    accounts.
  7. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills, with the ability to build and
    maintain strong SPL Utorogu Limited relationships.
  8. Ability to work in a team and manage multiple priorities.
